An Inspiring Interaction with Hon'ble CA. Piyush Goyal ji, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India .

On Friday, October 2, 2026, the ICAI Michigan Chapter (USA) represented by Priya Goel, ACA, Director had the privilege of being part of an engaging and candid interaction with Hon'ble CA. Piyush Goyal ji, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, in Chicago.

The interaction brought together representatives from five ICAI Overseas Chapters in the USA, creating a meaningful platform for Chartered Accountants to exchange perspectives on India's growth, India–U.S. relations, and the evolving role of the CA community globally.

Key themes discussed included:
🔹 Strengthening India–U.S. bilateral trade and economic relations
🔹 The role of the Indian professional community in the journey towards Viksit Bharat
🔹 Supporting and mentoring students and young professionals
🔹 Representing ICAI and India as professional ambassadors in the USA
🔹 Opportunities for greater collaboration and recognition between ICAI and the U.S. CPA profession, including MRA/MoU initiatives

We were deeply inspired by Hon'ble Minister ji's insights and his encouragement to the CA community in the United States to contribute meaningfully to India's continued growth and global presence.

A special thanks to the Consulate General of India Chicago, including Consul General Shri Dr. M. Anand Prakash and Deputy Consul General Shri Kriti Das Thokchom, for facilitating this meaningful interaction.

We also extend our appreciation to CA. Siddhanta Goel of ICAI Ohio (USA) Chapter and CA Vish Arunachalam of ICAI San Francisco for helping bring the chapters together and enabling this valuable conversation.

The ICAI Michigan Chapter (USA) looks forward to building on this engagement and continuing to support our members, students, and the wider Indian professional community in the United States.
Together, let us contribute to a stronger India–U.S. professional and economic partnership.
