The Michigan Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Welcome to ICAI Michigan

The ICAI Michigan Chapter serves Chartered Accountants and finance professionals across the state. We foster knowledge sharing, professional development, networking, and community leadership for members and friends of the profession. Through events, programs, and volunteer initiatives, the chapter strengthens connections between members, students, employers, and the broader ICAI community.

Officially established as "ICAI Michigan", the Chapter operates as a non-profit entity with operations primarily carried out within the State of Michigan.

Our Mission & Core Objects

Guided by the Constitution and Bylaws of our Chapter, we are dedicated to achieving the following objectives:

  • Community & Fellowship: To help, support, promote, and foster a sense of community, loyalty, fellowship, fraternalism, partnership, and professionalism among the members of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) living in the United States of America.

  • Professional Growth: To conduct professional development seminars, training, and education sessions for Chapter members as well as members of other professional accounting bodies.

  • Knowledge Exchange: To organize regular meetings and technical sessions on accounting, auditing, taxation, information technology, or any other topics of mutual interest to facilitate the active exchange of information.

  • Strategic Synergies: To establish and maintain close relationships with ICAI New Delhi, its global chapters, and other organizations that share similar interests to attain synergies.

  • Global Recognition: To liaise, within the guidelines of the ICAI, with professional bodies in the USA (such as the AICPA and MACPA) to increase and enhance the awareness of ICAI and its members, eventually promoting mutual recognition and reciprocal arrangements.

  • Designation Guidance: To support and provide guidance to members who wish to attain North American professional accounting designations.

  • Empowering Future Talent: To provide financial assistance to post-secondary students in the accounting profession in the form of scholarships and bursaries.

  • Industry Insights: To disseminate information and provide informal consultation related to the development of the accounting profession across different sectors by keeping members informed of recent changes in USA, India, and at an international level (including corporate governance, taxation, and shifting accounting standards).

  • Exam Facilitation: To facilitate and assist ICAI New Delhi in successfully conducting various ICAI examinations across the North America region.

Grow Your Network The Chapter offers two distinct pathways to keep our professional community vibrant, collaborative, and inclusive: * Voting Membership: Open to any US resident who is an "Associate" or "Fellow" member of ICAI. * Non-Voting Membership: Welcomes members of other professional accounting bodies or anyone who expresses a dedicated interest in the mission, vision, and objects of our Chapter.
